What is the Becker Joint Planning Board (JPB)?
The Becker Township Joint Planning Board is a board of final action for all zoning related items. Things like Conditional Use Permits, Variances, Interim Use Permits, etc., will travel first through the Town Planning Commission for a public hearing and then to the Joint Planning Board for final action.
Joint Planning considers the recommendations made by the Planning Commission prior to taking final action. JPB meetings are open to the public, but are not the location for the public to make comments. Public comment is taken at Planning Commission meetings. Applicants are encouraged to attend to answer any further questions the JPB may have regarding their application.
The JPB also sits as the zoning board of adjustment to hear appeals of decisions rendered by zoning administrator. .

Meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. and all members of the public are asked to sign in upon attending. If you have an item for the agenda, please email the clerk. If you need to be on an agenda for a Joint Planning Board meeting, you must contact the clerk or our planning and zoning staff prior to the meeting. The JPB cannot make any decisions unless items have followed the process laid out in MN State and Local Zoning Ordinance.
